Somehow, we’re nearly through the 5th month of the year, and for us so far, it’s been a pretty good one. A number of drills have left our gates and head to their new homes since the beginning of 2021.
The South Island Agricultural Field Days held in Kirwee on the 24th – 26th of March went really well. It was great to see so many people and have a yarn with both existing and new customers. Things were already moving fast, but the field days have definitely stepped up the game with a large number of orders already placed for Spring 2021 delivery.
Our 2022 Calendar Photo Competition is also open, so keep sending in and tagging us in your drill photos for a chance to feature and win prizes!
We had a bit of a shindig on Tuesday the 11th of May to celebrate our team & our successes together over the last year and set new goals for the year ahead. A lot of fun was had on the Adrenalin Events V8 simulators!

This year has been bloody busy for us here and it’s time to give you the latest insights. Lots of drills have been built and head out for spring delivery to areas such as Waikato, Hawkes Bay, Manawatu, Marlborough, Canterbury and across Otago. It’s pretty exciting stuff for us to be seeing all the photos of our drills in their new homes, doing what they’re made to do!
In addition to drill builds, a NEW E-D 4000 has been designed and built and is now available from the Allen Custom Drills stable. The E-D (Ergonomic Drill) series is our ‘Entry Level Triple Disc Drill that is suitable for both Farmers and Contractors’. The new E-D 4000 features a 4m sowing width, the option of 5” or 6” row spacings, and folds to 3m for easier transportation.
Another exciting aspect of our growing business recently is the joining of a new dealer for our drills over in Australia. Cervus Equipment, who have 6 branches across Victoria AUS, jumped on board at the end of August 2019. We now have 5x dealers for Allen Custom Drills over NZ and AUS; Waikato Tractors, Stevenson & Taylors, North Canterbury Equipment, Cervus Equipment Australia and Goulburn Farm Machinery NSW.
We have recently expanded our range of promo gear, which is now available to purchase on our website, including Oil Skin Vests, Caps and Beanies. Speaking of our website, back in August 2019 we completely renovated it to give it a fresher, new look. We hope you love it just as much as we do.
The next event that we have coming up is the Waimumu Field Days from the 12th – 14th February 2020.
CHRISTMAS CLOSEDOWN NOTICE: We are closing down over the Christmas period, to allow our staff time to spend with their families, relax and get ready for a new year!
Our close down period this year starts on Monday the 23rd December 2019 and ends of Sunday the 5th January 2020.

"The South Island Agricultural Field days in Kirwee NZ on the 27th-29th March were amazing for us with record beating enquires received over all three days, with a great amount of those now sold! The 1% finance deal on the E-D Series has been popular throughout the month of April, and has now ended. The C-D 3000 that was on an end of season special has now sold. “March 2019 has been a ripper. We have the Central District Field days in Feilding NZ on the 14th-16th of March followed by South Island Agricultural Field days in Kirwee NZ on the 27th-29th March. We have introduced two New Zealand Dealers for 2019 in the North Island who are representing our company & our product very well. I guess we could say they really have joined the family business. I’m excited to head up to Central Districts, alongside Stevenson & Taylors Ltd who deal Allen Custom Drills.There has been a huge interest in our Contour Drills, however as of late our New Ergonomic Drill has been what I would say is the flavour of the month. I have put a lot of design work into this model concept over the past few years, however it has been in the past 12months after trials and research that I can happily say this Ergonomic Drill ticks many boxes the infamous Contour Drill does. In a basic explanation, it holds a lower buy price, similar performance, just without some of the bells and whistles. The E-D Series, as I refer to it, is performing really well I’m more than happy with it.” – Craig Allen
